Moodhue Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Moodhue is a mood journal for iPhone, made by Fernando Pinto, an independent developer. In short: your journal stays on your iPhone. There’s no account, no analytics and no tracking, and we never see your data.

What the app stores, and where

We don’t run any servers. There’s no sign-up, and no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. Nothing tracks you across apps or websites.

Permissions (all optional)

Export and sharing

Exports (CSV, PDF report, backup file) and share images are only created when you ask for them, and they go wherever you choose to send them through the iOS share sheet. After that, how they’re handled depends on the app or person you share them with.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app only learns from Apple whether Premium is active.

Deleting your data

Delete check-ins inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your iPhone. Copies in iCloud or iTunes device backups follow Apple’s own backup settings.

Children

Moodhue isn’t aimed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect information from them. In fact, it collects no information at all.

Not medical advice

Moodhue is a personal journal. It isn’t a medical device or service, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat anything. If you’re in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away. The app’s “Having a hard time?” screen shows your local emergency number and a link to findahelpline.com, a free directory of helplines for your country. That link opens in Safari, outside the app, and that site’s own privacy policy applies there; Moodhue sends it nothing.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
